The water-loving (hydrophilic) part breaks the surface tension of water. The water-hating (hydrophobic) part is attracted to oil and grease in soils, loosening and removing them from fabrics. Detergents usually contain more than one type of surfactant to address the needs of removing certain types of soils and cleaning different types of fabrics.

Yes the cap is slightly taller on the Tide plus Febreze Freshness bottles. Consumers told us that the fill lines in the measuring cap are difficult to see. So we re-designed it so that the fill lines are more obvious and easier to read. In the process, the cap was made slightly taller.
"Spring and Renewal" Tide perfume has some of the same scent characters as the Febreze Downy and Bounce scents.
We would not expect to see white specks in the product however under certain conditions it may be possible that they could appear; the cleaning performance and long lasting freshness would not be affected.
